VLIR-UOS confers scholarships to students from 31 qualified nations in Africa, Asia and Latin-America, to follow an English-taught training or masters program at a Flemish university or university college in Belgium.

Benefits of this Scholarship:
- The program offers full funding throughout the completion of the training or masters
- The allowances as follows-
- Training Program
- € 33 for daily allowance
- Numerous one-time expenditures
- Housing, insurance, international travel and education fee are included in the scholarship
- Master Program
- € 890 for monthly allowance
- € 390 living allowance per month
- € 62 per dependent person per month as family allowance
- Numerous one-time expenditures
- Insurance, international travel and education fee are included in the scholarship

Eligibility:
To be eligible for the scholarship program following requirements must meet:
- Nationality and Country of residence
- A candidate must be a citizen and resident among the VLIR-UOS listed *countries for financial while applying
* (Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Niger
Asia: Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Palestinian Territories, Vietnam
Latin America: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, Suriname)
- Age
- An ICP candidate can be maximum of 35 years for initial masters and 45 years for advanced masters
- An ITP candidate can be maximum of 45 years
- Candidate age must not exceed mentioned above at the time of enrollment, on January 1.
- Professional background and experiences
- VLIR-UOS gives preference to candidates who are professionally involved in academic institutions, research institutions, government, social economy or intend to build career in one of these sectors
- Recent graduate without any professional experience (ICP) or engaged in profit sector (ITP and ICP) are eligible candidates for the program
- The ITP candidate should have appropriate qualification and official letter to acknowledge the involvement in a professional area where developed knowledge and skills
