 Description:  The bursary was established in 2010 by the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation. The aim of the bursary is to assist Education students to gain valuable experience in a rural or remote location for Workplace Learning.

 Annual Comment:  The bursary is valued at up to $2,500 depending on the location and distance from the Sunshine Coast, as well as the length of placement. The bursary is paid as a one off lump sum, unless the 2 final Workplace Learning courses in the undergraduate program are undertaken – in this case the payment will be made in 2 instalments.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be enrolled in either an undergraduate Education degree or a Graduate Diploma in Education; have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills; have an interest in seeking employment in a rural or remote location following graduation; not be returning to their formal rural or remote location for Workplace Learning; and have not received any other significant funding from another source (e.g. scholarship offered of $5,000 or more).
