The East-West center is delighted to publish the 2009 United-States-Timor- Leste (USTL) scholarship program competition. This program is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program open to East Timorese who meet specific selection criteria that funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.

The main objective of the program is to find out and support the education of academically talented East Timorese who are in the future expected to assume leadership roles in Timor-Leste.

Taking after a “bridge” of escalated English dialect planning, the scholarship ordinarily gives the chance to seek after the bachelor’s (S1) degree study at a university in the United States, in fields that are specifically important to the needs of the nations. It will also facilitate the beneficiaries with acquire a more extensive seeing of the United States. The scholarship program will include a summer internship in Washington, D.C and additionally a four should five week group administration task for Timor-Leste.
