UNDP Human Development Academic Fellowship for Asia Pacific is a scholarship program for PhD students. Students who have completed their master’s program and now interested in PhD program can participate in this scholarship program. However, the PhD must be in Human Development related subject. To encourage young talents in research to develop human and their life around Asia and Pacific area, this scholarship is awarded. This PhD scholarship for Human Development related research is organized by United Nations Development Program. As a result it is a very prestigious scholarship. Concurrently a good opportunity for completing post-graduation with scholarship support.

Who can apply:
This scholarship is only for candidates from Asia Pacific region. That means students from the following countries can apply for this scholarship. Students from other country than these countries cannot apply for this scholarship.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Islamic Republic of Kiribati, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Niue, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Republic of Korea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.

As this scholarship is organized by UNDP, the benefits are very attractive. It covers almost every need a PhD candidate may need. The benefits are:
- US$ 10,000 funds for developing a dissertation on a pre-approved topic
- Travel allowance
- Cost of research will be provided by UNDP
Eligibility:
To be eligible for UNDP Human Development Academic Fellowship for Asia Pacific there are some certain eligibility criteria that a student must fulfill. If the eligibility criteria is not fulfilled, the application will not considered. So before applying for this scholarship, make sure there is no violation or limitation in eligibility criteria.
- Must have completed master’s degree program in relevant field. That means master’s degree have to be in Human Development related subject.
- Must have enrolled in a fulltime PhD program an any university anywhere in the world
- Must have selected a topic of research based on Human Development
- Applicant must be from the Asia Pacific region. The name of the countries have been provided above.
- Applicant must be under 30 years old
- Students who are member or staff of UN cannot participate in this program.
