Description: The late Mr Tsuneichi Fujii was a successful Japanese businessman who had a long association through major business dealings with Tasmania. The scholarship was established to support study exchanges for Tasmanian and Japanese postgraduate students across a range of disciplines to develop stronger links between the cultures. UTAS has strong connections with the University of Hokkaido in Sapporo through the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS). IMAS will provide an opportunity for an Australian postgraduate student from IMAS to travel to Japan to undertake a short period of study or research at the University of Hokkaido (UH) as part of their research program.
