It combined the Thiess Scholarship in Civil Engineering that was established in 1996 and the Roger Trundle Scholarship that was established in 2009, and was maintained by an annual gift from Thiess Pty Ltd in memory of the late Roger Trundle, a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering program and a former Managing Director of Thiess Pty Ltd.
