 Description:  The Tasmanian Oyster Research Council (TORC) is the industry body charged with setting the state’s oyster-related research priorities and managing state based funding of research projects. As part of this role, TORC is pleased to offer the TORC Oyster Industry Scholarship to promote the industry to UTAS students and to help students understand and experience the many ways in which people can work in this vibrant Tasmanian industry, with a view of offering the student an entry point into employment in the industry.

 Annual Comment:  The scholarship provides $2,500. Recipients will be offered 2 weeks work experience with Australian Seafoods Industries (ASI), and one week work experience with a leading oyster farm. The scholarship will also include full registration to Shellfish Futures (including accommodation and meals) and the annual industry dinner and workshop, to the value of $500.
