Applicants must: be at least 21 years of age; be Australian citizens, permanent residents or holders of an Australian Humanitarian Visa; be commencing study as a first year undergraduate student at UOW; and have a demonstrated need such as financial and/or social disadvantage. Equity criteria include, but are not restricted to, low income family background, living in a rural or isolated region, having a permanent disability, recently migrated from a non-English speaking country, Indigenous Australians.

Applicants must: enrol in the Bachelor of Mathematics or a related degree; demonstrate an interest in Mathematics at school; demonstrate outstanding academic achievement; and demonstrate a strong desire to pursue a career in mathematics. Female students are encouraged to apply.

 Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate degree in management, marketing, finance, accounting or business information systems at UOW.
