Macquarie University Merit Scholarship

Applicants must achieve an ATAR of 98.5+. Selection is based on: academic merit; outstanding character; maturity; common sense; and a capacity to triumph over hardship (e.g. financial disadvantage, sole parent or carer responsibilities, non-English speaking or Indigenous background, effects of trauma and/or abuse, long-term medical condition/disability, or residence in a rural or remote area). Students who have taken a gap year and not undertaken any further study are eligible to apply.

Macquarie University Dunmore Lang College Regional and Rural Scholarship

Applicants must: be domestic students relocating from regional or rural Australia to study at Macquarie University; demonstrate financial need; demonstrate the capacity to triumph over hardship; demonstrate leadership or community involvement or potential; be new domestic students to Macquarie University; and not have previously studied at university.

Macquarie University Alumni Family Scholarship

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; have an immediate family member (parent, sibling or grandparent) who is an Alumnus/Alumnae of Macquarie University; have received an offer to study at Macquarie University for the first time; demonstrate sufficient academic merit; demonstrate commitment to study at Macquarie University; and demonstrate capacity to triumph over hardship (financial disadvantage, sole parent or carer responsibilities, non- English speaking or Indigenous background, effects of trauma and/or abuse, long-term medical condition or disability or coming from a rural or remote area).

Macquarie Higher Study Scholarship (MAHS)

Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents of Australia; be eligible to study full time at the honours or postgraduate coursework level; be enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place or Domestic fee paying place; and demonstrate financial hardship. Consideration will be given to applicants who, in addition to financial hardship, demonstrate any of the following: capacity to triumph over hardship, Indigenous background, carer responsibilities, geographic disadvantage, non English speaking background, long term medical condition, or ongoing effects of abuse. Academic merit will also be considered.
