Wentworth Bursary

Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents; be continuing undergraduate students; be able to demonstrate financial hardship; be able to provide evidence of AUSTUDY, ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance or other payments from the Department of Human Services; and be enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place.

Walter & Eliza Hall Scholarship

Applicants must: be Australian citizens; have successfully completed at least 48 credit points of study in nursing or social work at the University of Sydney; be in receipt of a means-tested Centrelink benefit; and be full time students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place. Students applying for the award on the basis of physical disability should be in receipt of a means-tested Centrelink benefit in addition to formally diagnosed disability.

Walker Bursary

  Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; be continuing undergraduate students; be able to demonstrate financial hardship; and be able to provide evidence of AUSTUDY, ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance or other payments from the Department of Human Services.

Vice-Chancellor’s Research Scholarship (VCRS)

Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents; be commencing their full-time PhD candidature in the semester that the scholarship is awarded; and have applied for, and been awarded, an APA or UPA. Eligibility criteria for the VCRS will be the same as the APA, except that only commencing PhD students will be considered. Academic excellence (e.g. a University Medal) and outstanding research potential will be the selection criteria.
