Rotary Foundation Global Scholarship Grants

Global grants support different large international activities with Rotary Foundation and scholarship facilities are not apart from this. With the funding of Global Grants, Rotary Foundation offers one-four years scholarship for graduate-level coursework and research level in order to work together to real community needs, strengthen their global partnership.

Scholarship Provider:

  • This scholarship is applicable for any approved university located in the country under Host Rotary club or district.
  • The applicants should prefer outside universities rather than their home countries.

       Area of study:

Global grants scholarship, organized by the Rotary Foundation has a rich history of funding scholarships for graduate students studying abroad in of six areas of focus with the high-impact outcome.

The following specific six courses are targeted under this program in order to maximize the local and global impact-

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and sanitation
  • Maternal and child health
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development.

Benefits of scholarship:

The minimum budget for a global grant scholarship is $30,000  are funded using cash or District designated funds matched by the World Ban. This is useful for the following:

  • Passport/visa.
  • Travel expenses (as specified in the grant terms and conditions) .
  • School supplies, Tuition, Room and board.
  • Household supplies.
  • Language training courses (but not if university admission is contingent the improvement of language skills).

It is to notify that, personal and miscellaneous expenses are not covered by the scholarship funding.

Rather than student facility, this scholarship also contains some other aspects and that is to grow up a partnership between the district or club in the study location(host sponsor) and the district or club in the scholar’s home country(International sponsor).

Eligibility:

  • Global grant scholars plan to pursue a career in an area of focus, which means the scholar has a long-term commitment to measurable, sustainable change. Make sure that a candidate’s previous work or volunteer experience, academic program, and career plans are strongly aligned with one of the six areas of focus.
  • Applicants may NOT be a Rotarian or an employee of a club, district, or any other Rotary entity, or of Rotary International.
  • The Applicant may be the spouse, a lineal descendant, or an ancestor (parent or grandparent by blood) of any person in the two categories.
  • Applicants must study outside of their home country. They must provide proof of university admission at the time of application process .Conditional admission is not acceptable if admission is contingent on improvement in a language score.

How to apply:

  • Clubs and districts must be Qualified before they can apply for global grants.
  • Global grant applications are submitted online at rotary.org/grants. The sponsor clubs or districts create the initial application, and the scholar candidate then completes the scholar profile online.
  • Applicants can also contact their local Rotary clubs via the Rotary Club Locator to inquire on how to be sponsored by the grant.
  • Though these scholarship applications are accepted ona rolling basis throughout the year but applications should be submitted at least three months before the scholar’s intended departure date to allow adequate time for Foundation review and processing.
  • Each Rotary Club/District may have its own specific timeline.
