 Description:  The Roni Ellis Indigenous Study Award is dedicated to the memory of Roni Ellis, an Indigenous employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), who died of leukaemia in 2000. Roni managed the promotion of Australia’s Indigenous culture and art abroad. She was instrumental in building understanding of Indigenous culture and history. Through this award, DFAT supports Roni’s desire that Indigenous people be assisted in the pursuit of their educational and career goals.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; be enrolled in an undergraduate degree; have completed the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation Program at the Ngunnawal Centre and University of Canberra College; and attach a 500 word statement outlining their work/volunteer history, career goals, challenges faced and how they have overcome them and how the scholarship money will assist them.
