 Description:  The Professor Darrell Tryon Research Scholarship was established in 2013 to honour the memory and continue the academic legacy of Professor Darrell Tryon, an eminent scholar of the Australian National University who devoted a distinguished research career to the languages and peoples of the Pacific and who was a great friend of France. The exchange program will enable one PhD scholar from ANU to spend 3 months at L’Universite de la Nouvelle-Caledonie (University of New Caledonia, UNC).

 Annual Comment:  The scholarship provides: the return airfare from the home institution to the host institution; a monthly stipend of EUR1,000; on campus residential accommodation; and office facilities.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be enrolled as PhD scholars; have completed a minimum of 12 months equivalent full-time study; be undertaking research in any fields belonging to the social sciences and humanities; and be able to travel to the host institution at the time agreed. Preference will be given to students working on topics related to the Asia Pacific region including Australia.
