Description:
The New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) offers the opportunity for international students from selected developing countries to study in New Zealand to gain skills and knowledge through post-graduate study in specific subjects that will assist in the development of their home country. The scholarships are open to citizens of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Caribbean. Please see the complete list of eligible countries.

Area of Study:
New Zealand Development Scholarships are available for the following level of studies:
- Postgraduate Certificate (6 months),
- Postgraduate Diploma (1 year), Masters Degree (1 – 2 years)
- or PhD (up to 3.5 years).
Benefits of this Scholarship:
- The scholarships include full tuition fees, a living allowance (paid fortnightly)
- Establishment fee, medical and travel insurance, travel between applicants home country and New Zealand at the start and end of scholarship,
- Home leave or reunion travel for some eligible scholars.
- Assistance with research and thesis costs for postgraduate research students.
Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for a New Zealand Scholarship:
- Minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing the scholarship.
- A citizen of the country of residence from which you are applying for a scholarship and have resided in that country for at least the last two years.
- Agree to return to your home country after completion of the scholarship.

How to Apply:
Most eligible countries are able to apply online at the official website from 1 February 2017 to 30 April 2017. Applicants must submit this to your nearest New Zealand High Commission or Embassy (if you are from a country which allows paper applications) to arrive no later than 15 April 2016.
