Scholarship Name:  Multi-objective Mixed Integer Programming PhD Scholarship

Description:  Discrete optimisation algorithms have been widely used in real world decision making. However, critical decisions often require consideration of multiple, often conflicting objectives such as profits, risk, waste and sustainability. Currently there is a of lack algorithmic tools that can be used to resolve conflicting goals for problems involving yes/no and additional continuous-quantity decisions. Exact algorithms to quantify the trade-off between goals and to optimise a utility function of these conflicting objectives need to be developed. These tools can then be used by organisations to make better decisions. The PhD project aims at developing these tools.
