 Description:  Melbourne National Scholarships are awarded to talented undergraduate students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement during their Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate (IB).

 Annual Comment:  The Melbourne National Scholarship provides: tuition fee-exempt Commonwealth Supported Place valued up to approximately $30,500; a living allowance of $15,000 paid in 6 half-yearly instalments of $2,500 for Victorian students or $30,000 paid in 6 half-yearly instalments of $5,000 for interstate students; a Melbourne Global Scholars Award of up to $2,500 for an approved period of overseas study as an Exchange or Study Abroad student; and a travel allowance of $700 for interstate Year 12 or IB students. The scholarship may be extended for another year for students who enrol in a concurrent diploma at the same time as their Bachelor degree course.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents; have completed Year 12 or IB in Australia in the year prior to commencing the course; achieve an ATAR of at least 99.90, or an ATAR of at least 90 for Indigenous Australians; not have been awarded results in a degree course at a tertiary institution in Australia; and satisfy the prerequisites for the nominated course. This scholarship is offered to all eligible students on the basis of their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). In addition, the status of Indigenous Australians must be confirmed by the Murrup Barak Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development.

 Other Details:  Students do not need to submit an application for this scholarship. Eligible students who have applied for admission to the University will be automatically considered. Scholarship offers are conditional on receiving an offer for admission to a University of Melbourne undergraduate degree.
