Description: The Mel Ward Scholarship was established by Pro Medicus Limited in memory of the late Mel Ward AO who was the last Managing Director of Telecom Australia. Mel Ward was Chairman of Pro Medicus from 2000 until he retired due to ill health in 2010. Mel Ward made significant contributions in the fields of digitisation of Australia’s telephony and data networks and in mobile telecommunications technologies. He was also a passionate supporter of the arts in Australia and was deeply involved in his local community.
