Description: Bond University has joined forces with the former Wallabies Captain, John Eales AM, to present this prestigious sporting scholarship which provides an opportunity for an outstanding young rugby union star to be mentored both on and off the field. The goal of the scholarship is to prepare the individual for life beyond rugby with an internationally recognised degree in the discipline of the student’s choice. Recipients will spend their rugby season with the Bond University Rugby Club playing in the highest competition in the state of Queensland throughout the duration of their degree.

Annual Comment: The scholarship covers 100 per cent of tuition fees for any single undergraduate, postgraduate or diploma program. In addition students will also receive: $10,000 per year to assist with costs incurred during study; one-on-one mentoring sessions with John Eales; and the opportunity to network with elite athletes, coaches and top-level teams from a range of sports.

Eligibility: Applicants must: be applying for any single undergraduate, postgraduate or diploma program at Bond University (excluding the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery); be male students under the age of 26; have experience playing rugby at a high level relative to their age; have a predicted OP of 1-7 (ATAR 87.15 – 99.95); and meet the prerequisites and entry standards for their chosen degree program.
