Italian government scholarships for foreign students

Description:

This scholarship is provided by Italian government to the students who are foreign citizens and also to Italian citizen resident abroad (IRE). The scholarships are offered for:

  • Undergraduate University courses (renewals only)
  • Postgraduate University courses
  • Master’s Degree courses (Levels I or II)
  • D. Courses
  • Specialization Schools
  • Research under academic supervision
  • Courses of Higher Education in Art
  • Music and Dance (AFAM)
  • Advanced Courses on Italian language and culture Courses for Teachers of Italian as second language.

Candidates will get eligible area of study offer after participating in Italian Universities.

Benefits of this scholarship:

  • Duration: The scholarship’s duration can be 3,6 or 9 months. The scholarship duration is 1 month only for Italian language teacher’s course.
  • Tuition fees free: The students who get scholarship need not to pay for tuition fees according to the existing rules and conditions. However, as the university is a part of the autonomy, they may not allow those regulations provided by the scholarship provider. For this reason the students must contact directly to the institution for getting information about taxes and tuition fees.
  • Insurance: The students who hold the scholarship are covered by an insurance policy against illness and/or accident. Air tickets are only acceptable for Chilean citizens.

NB: In order to get information about the scholarship in details one request to the Italian Embassy or Italian Cultural Institute which are situated in the applicant’s country.

 Eligibility

  • Educational qualification: Chosen institution will set requirements for Educational Qualification.
  • Language knowledge: Italian language knowledge ( A certification of Italian language at intermediate level for candidates is must needed (e.g. CILS B2, CELI 3, PLIDA B2 or INT.IT Roma Tre.) or from a local organization or language school who issue equivalent linguistic proficiency (e.g. Italian Cultural Institute, Dante Alighieri Society branch etc.).
  • Language level: A2 level proficiency in Italian is must needed for those applicants who’s enrollment is in Advanced courses on Italian language and culture.
  • For English courses: University courses which are entirely in English for those Italian language knowledge is not required
  • Age limits: On the deadline(15 April, 2016) candidates who are less than 18 or more than 35 years old are not eligible. However, those candidates for courses for teacher of Italian as second language are eligible until they are not more than 45 years old on the deadline.
  • Restrictions: Students are not eligible for scholarship who are enrolled in a year exceeding the legal duration of the course of study (the so-called “fuori corso”)

How to apply:

  • Applicants must fill online form before 15 April, 2016 by 00.00am.
  • The student must contact the university before submitting the application.
