 Description:  The scholarships were established from the estate of the first Professor of French at the University of Newcastle, Professor Kelver Hartley, to promote the study of French and to assist students in this endeavour.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be enrolled in any undergraduate program; be enrolled in either FREN2620, FREN3160 or FREN3701 courses; and be accepted as an exchange student for a semester at the University of La Rochelle, France. Selection is based on academic merit, including performance in French courses.
