The grant aims to: attract excellent students to Hansen Yuncken and to the construction industry; enable those students to grow by learning in the industry; promote Hansen Yuncken; promote the building discipline from the University of South Australia; and promote the construction industry.

Selection is based on: integrity; strong team work orientation and work ethic; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); leadership potential; growth potential; demonstrated initiative; problem solving aptitude; ability to overcome adversity; academic competence; and willingness to undertake a work placement with Hansen Yuncken. Tenure is dependent on satisfactory progress.
