Flinders International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (FIPRS)

Description:

Flinders University is announcing The Flinders International Post graduate Research Scholarship program (FIPRS) targeted towards supporting international students pursuing higher research degrees. A limited number of competitive FIPRS scholarships are available each year. The scholarship is awarded to candidates who are able to display excellent aptitude for independent research work and are considered on the basis of academic merit, academic research training and indicators.

A Full-time Research Masters degree or Research Doctorate degree offered by Flinders University.

 

Benefits of the Scholarship:

  • The selected students under the FIPRS Scholarship program will receive the benefits which are following
  • Full International student tuition waiver for the entire program
  • A modest tax-free living allowance of $26,288/year (rate as of year 2016)
  • Establishment allowance of up to $ 1485 to support with the relocation costs which includes airfare.
  • The length of the scholarship is up to 2 years for a research Masters Degree and up to 3 years for a Research Doctoral Degree

 

Eligibility:

  • Applicant has to fulfill the University academic requirements to be eligible to apply for their desired program (2 year Masters Degree or 3 year Doctoral Degree)
  • Applicants must have completed a minimum of an equivalent of Australian First Class Honors Degree which is a 4 year Honors degree with a major research project in the final year
  • Applicants are expected to comply with the English proficiency level for the International students set by the Flinders University during application procedure. Students for whom English is not a native language has to provide evidence of their English competence level to satisfy the entry requirements
  • The program is only open to students who are interested to pursue for the first time in their academic career. The applicants cannot have another Research higher degree prior to application
  • Applicants with Australian citizenship, Australian permanent resident status and New Zealand citizenship are not eligible to apply for this program

How to Apply:

  • The application deadlines for the 2 programs under FIPRS Scholarship program are generally the 12th, August of every year.
  • Applicants are required to prepare their application process requirements and materials ahead of the deadline to avoid unavoidable challenges which might lead to ineligibility to apply.
