 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; have attended secondary school in a rural or isolated area of Australia for at least 4 years; be a member of a family that lived in a rural or isolated area for at least 4 years of the applicant’s high school studies; be completing the HSC (or equivalent) in the year of the application or the previous 2 years (but not commenced tertiary study); and be proposing full-time study in the first year of a Bachelor of Engineering program at UNSW. Selection is based on interview performance, academic merit and personal qualities. Consideration may also be given to any financial circumstances that might otherwise hinder successful transition to UNSW.

 Other Details:  Applicants must be available for interview at UNSW in the third week of November. As part of the program, several on-campus residential colleges set aside some first year places for successful applicants. (The Kensington Colleges, Shalom College, New College, Warrane College). To be considered for one of these places, apply to the college (or colleges) by the advertised closing date clearly indicating the application is for the Faculty of Engineering Rural Scholarship Program.
