 Description:  The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) performs a critical role in managing a range of emergencies across Western Australia. DFES is aware that many Aboriginal communities in WA are especially vulnerable to natural disasters and other emergencies. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship was established in 2014. The purpose of the Scholarship is to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to graduation and encourage them into careers such as Fire and Emergency Services.

 Annual Comment:  The scholarship provides $5,000 for full-time enrolment (pro rata for part time – minimum 30 credit points).
