CIMO Doctoral Fellowships in Finland

Brief Summary:

Young Doctoral level students and researchers from all academic fields and from all countries who wish to pursue their Doctorate (or Double Doctorate) at a Finnish university, the CIMO Fellowships program is open for them. Master’s level studies or post-doctoral studies/research are not suitable for this program.

Finish University have the right to host this program.


Area of Study:

PhD Degree is available for all academic backgrounds.


Target group:

All international students are welcome to join but applicants from Russia, China, India, Chile, Brazil and North America are encourage to apply.


Scholarship Benefit

  • The monthly benefit is 1,500 euros.
  • Living expenses in Finland for a single person is covered by this scholarship.
  • No additional money required for housing expense. CIMO is not bound to take all international travel cost.


Eligibility & Requirements:

Established contacts with a Finnish host university

  • Look at the ‘Doctoral Admissions’ for further information (you’ll find links to the universities’ Doctoral Admissions pages there).
  • You are also advised to visit the Finnish universities’ own websites for info on Doctoral level study and research options.
  • If a Finnish university is willing to host you, then the Finnish university department wishing to host you can apply to CIMO for the grant on your behalf. In other words, only the hosting Finnish university can act as an “applicant” in the CIMO Fellowship program.

No Deadline. Applications may be considered at all times. However, please note that applications should be submitted at least 5 months before the intended scholarship period.
