Scholarship Name:  Charles Williams Memorial Scholarship in Law

Description:  Barry Charles Williams (known as Charles) was born in 1939, and embarked on full-time LLB studies at the University of Tasmania as a mature-aged man of 47. He graduated in 1989. Charles was a sole practitioner in country areas for most of his professional legal life. While practicing law he always had a small farm with animals. During his law studies he made the 10-hour weekly round trip commute to Hobart from Bridport to attend university. In his memory, Charles’ wife and daughters have established this scholarship for a mature-aged student at the law faculty.
