Ashinaga Scholarship for Orphaned Students from Sub-Saharan Africa

Ashinaga is a non-profit organization who offers the “Ashinaga Africa Initiative” intending to arrange higher education to 49 extraordinary students from 49 Sub-Saharan countries mostly poorest in the world and inspire them to become leading professionals in their own countries. This movement is to encourage young and make them educated and send them to their country to work for wellbeing of their countries.

 

Scholarship Provider:   

 

Ashinagar is the scholarship provider. Any University in EU, US , South Africa, Australia, Canada can be chosen by the applicant.

Any field of study

 

Benefits of the Scholarship:

 

  • Cover the tuition fees
  • Accommodation facilities
  • Cover the travel costs
  • Other necessary costs

 

Eligibility:

  • Have lost one or both parents.
  • Have completed 12 years of education
  • Have citizenship and completed/are completing high school in one of the following countries: Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Sudan, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mauritius, Somalia, Nigeria, The Gambia
  • Were born after 1 st October 1994.
  • Do not have the financial means to attend university.
  • Are proficient in English.
  • Have an outstanding academic performance at high school.
  • Are able to participate in the two Ashinaga preparatory programs, over the course of one year, before attending university.
  • Are willing to return home, or to Sub-Saharan Africa, and contribute to society in Sub-Saharan Africa after graduating from university.
  • Have no dependents who could interfere with academic progress.
  • Are in good health condition and capable of studying abroad.
