ARES offers an average of 150 scholarships for master’s students and 70 scholarships during courses to nationals of chosen developing countries every year.
Scholarship Provider:
The scholarship will be provided by the participating universities and academic institutions in Belgium.
Area of Study:
The scholarship is applicable for the students who are in Masters and Training courses in the fields of aquaculture, health, food technology, economics, international development, GIS, information technology, agriculture, environment, human rights, microfinance, etc.

Benefits of this Scholarship:
- The scholarship will provide international travel expenses, living allowance, tuition fees, insurance, housing allowance, etc.
Eligibility:
- You must be from a developing country and have to reside and work in your country at the time of introduction of the file.
- The residents of the following countries can apply for scholarships from the ARES: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Ecuador, Ethiopia (only for courses in English), Haiti, Madagascar, Morocco, Niger, Peru, Philippines, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, and Vietnam.
- The applicant should be aged less than 40 years for the courses, and less than 45 for courses, and at the beginning of training.
- You must carry a comparable degree from a diploma of second cycle of the Belgian university.
- The applicants must have a professional occupation in developing countries of at least two years after the completion of their graduate , or three years after the end of their studies when the candidate have a 3rd cycle degree from one university in an industrialized country;
- You must have a good knowledge of written and spoken French. It is essential to have good knowledge of the course language, written and spoken for participating in the organized training in other language. You are also asked to commit to learn French so that you can participate in daily life in Belgium.
- The candidate has to apply for a single formation.
- Candidates must not get entry earlier in any of the French-speaking universities of Belgium.
How to Apply:
- At first, the applicant has to complete the single form scholarship application and admission to one of the French-speaking universities of Belgium.
- Then the application has to be sent to ARES (rue Royale 180, 1000 Brussels, Belgium) only through mail or express mail.
