 Description:  To commemorate 100 years of Federal conciliation and arbitration, members of the AIRC (Australian Industrial Relations Commission) established a trust to fund the AIRC Centennial Prize. The prize is awarded by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty Business & Economics, after consultation with an AIRC representative. Selection of the best research work will be based on the quality of the essay or thesis and relevance of the research to the AIRC and the community.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be undergraduate or postgraduate research students who complete the best research work, assessed by thesis or essay, in the field of industrial relations or labour history (includes industrial/employment relations, labour economics, labour history and labour/industrial law); be studying at the Faculty of Arts or the Faculty of Economics and Commerce at the University of Melbourne; and not have submitted their thesis or essay more than 12 months prior to the deadline of award. The award is open to both local and international students.
