The Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS) offers small grants to Honours, Masters and PhD Students in Australian institutions to travel to national or international conferences relevant to both the student’s research program in taxonomy or systematics, and to the ABRS Research Priorities.
Value and duration
A maximum of $1,000 is available for an international conference and $500 for travel within Australia.

Selection process
All Bursary applications are assessed by the ABRS according to the evidence provided in the application. Applications are assessed against each of the following key criteria:
- Relevance of postgraduate research to the ABRS Research Priorities
- Relevance of proposed conference/workshop to the applicant’s research and the ABRS Research Priorities
- Amount of matching funding from home institution or other source(s) obtained by applicant
