The Humboldt University of Berlin is offering up to 20 Postdoctoral scholarships to study in Germany. German and international applicants are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

The call for proposals is aimed at excellent researchers who either already holds a PhD or are about to complete their doctorate at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and who wish to conduct a postdoctoral research project.

Amount of Scholarship:

Funding of €1,500 per month is awarded for up to six months; additional family allowances are available; travel expenses may be covered. In exceptional cases, funding can be extended for up to an additional six months.

Who Can Apply for this Scholarship?

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:

Outstanding researchers who either already hold a PhD or are about to complete their doctorate at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and who wish to prepare or start a postdoctoral research project. Half of the scholarships will be awarded to women.

English language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

How to Apply for this Scholarship?

The application process for Humboldt Post-Doc Scholarships takes place via an online application portal. Applications will only be accepted via this portal, and the portal is only accessible during the application periods.

Once you have submitted your application via the online application portal, you will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail. Only complete applications can be considered.

The entire online application process can be completed in German or English.

  • Curriculum vitae (max. 2 pages)
  • Outline of the proposed research project (max. 5,000 characters)
  • Transcripts (B.A., M.A., PhD)
  • 1-3 key publications
  • Letter of recommendation from PhD supervisor

While getting admitted to an online college the first thing to check is the accreditation. If an online college is not accredited properly, it doesn’t worth anything. College degree from non-accredited online colleges are valueless.
