 Description:  Doorways to Construction (D2C) is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) initiative set up by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in conjunction with the secondary schooling sectors of South Australia. The program is designed to assist secondary students to learn about the skills in the building and construction industry and gives them the opportunity to experience the various career pathways within the industry. In an effort to support the recruitment of interested and skilled teachers for the delivery of the D2C programs, the scholarships will provide funds to assist students with the cost of the student contribution amount for a Commonwealth supported place for the final 2 years of the Bachelor of Education (Design and Technology) at UniSA.

 Eligibility:  Applicants must: be enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Education (Design and Technology Education) at UniSA; be Australian citizens or permanent residents; maintain satisfactory progress within the program in each half year, as defined by university policy; undertake the 3rd-year and 4th-year practicum placements in a secondary school setting which includes working directly with a D2C program; and participate in a range of building and construction industry activities organised by CITB including, and not limited to, site visits and undertaking additional courses in the trades skills areas. Graduates of the Doorways 2 Construction program or a similar VET in school program, and persons with skills/work experience related to the construction industry are encouraged to apply.
